It is widely agreed that Anthony Lister is one of the most compelling and exciting artists in the contemporary art world. His work is difficult to pin down which puts him in a class all to his own. Beautiful yet grotesque, aggressive while elegant, juvenile and refined somehow at the same time. The man himself is equally as compelling so it was a great pleasure to sit him down and discuss his various projects including a new documentary film about him and his family that ended up going in a direction he never expected, his run-ins with the law in Australia and wacky circumstances surrounding them, and of course his thoughts about his work and his process.
