2015 marked VantagePoint’s second year, and it was the moment when JB and Tom truly solidified both the show’s format and its place in the Urban Contemporary Art scene. The year kicked off in Berlin with Urban Nation’s PROJECT M — the first of several editions throughout the year — where they recorded with Dan Witz, Jonathan Levine, Gaia, Brooklyn Street Art, ICY & SOT, SPECTER, and Fin DAC. Each PROJECT M brought new energy and international talent into the city, and VantagePoint was there to capture it all. They also sat down with Andrea Wan for a thoughtful, intimate conversation, and then dove headfirst into Berlin’s Weird crew with Look, DXTR, and the Low Bros. Episode 50 took them to Hamburg for a long-overdue interview with Flying Förtress, a milestone with one of Germany’s most respected street artists. Back in Berlin, STOHEAD welcomed them into his studio, where he created the now-iconic VantagePoint logo live during the interview — a piece of history still carried with pride. Other highlights included conversations with stencil pioneer Jef Aerosol and the UK duo SNIK. 2015 was also the year VantagePoint stepped onto the festival stage, a milestone that shaped what the show would become. In the summer, they traveled to Denmark for the Roskilde Festival and RFGRAFF, recording with Mr. Cenz, KWEST, BoogieSML, Welin, and festival curator Lars Pederson. Sitting on folding chairs in an old horse stable at Roskilde, JB and Tom realized the show’s true potential: a mobile, traveling podcast. The year closed with their second international invitation — Miami Basel — where they recorded with Lord Nychos himself. With its mix of milestone episodes, major partnerships, and the first festival and international invitations, 2015 firmly established VantagePoint as a platform at the heart of the global urban art community.
